The Technical Improvement
Using broken impact principle to crush materials, parts of impact crusher such as hammer, plate hammers and back panels become wearing ones and have to be replaced very quickly. This deficiency limit the application scope and can only be used in the mid-hard material crushing. With the application of new wear-resistant materials in the early fifties, German KHD company first introduced Hard Rock Impact Crusher to break this limitation. Now the improve version of this model is still under production.

Development in China
China had Impact Crusher in the late fifties. Before the eighties domestic impact crusher are limited to deal with mid-hard material such as coal and limestone. Until the late eighties, Shanghai construction company introduced KHD-type hard rock impact crusher to fill this gap. However, a lag of 20 years compared with foreigh conuntries.

At the beginning, the important parts such as board hammer of domestic Impact crusher depend on import. Chinese government pay more attention to the development of this field and domestic board hammer became ministerial-level scientific research project in the "Eighth Five-Year" period. With a big success, domestic hammer not only replaced the import products, but also exported to Europe, Japan and other countries. Wear-resistant parts provided great effort to development of impact crusher.
